Don't Vote UKIP

The UK Independence Party wants to withdraw Britain from the European Union. According to UKIP, Britain pays £40m per day to be a member of the EU, which it says is a waste of money. UKIP want value for money.

However, British MEPs cannot withdraw Britain from the EU and UKIP fails to explain this. So we must ask, what on earth UKIP MEPs do for Britain. Even UKIP confirms that a vote for them will only send a message to our politicians rather than doing anything constructive for British interests in Europe.

Well, from what I’ve heard, UKIP MEPs rarely go to Brussels and try not to participate in the various pieces of legislation being debated by the European Parliament. How on earth is that value for money?

UKIP refers to corruption in the EU, similar to our Parliament, but conveniently omits to mention that UKIP MEPs have been successfully prosecuted for fraud and corruption and they have been investigated by our own Electoral Commission.

"The party has been paying its regional organisers by designating them “advisers” and “assistants” to its 10 MEPs, thereby allowing them to draw salaries of up to £40,000 a year from the EU, while they do their actual jobs “in their spare time”.

UKIP blames the EU for ‘unlimited’ immigration, yet it is fielding an Argentine born, Spanish candidate, Marta Andreasen, to represent British interests in the South East Region. I find this most confusing given UKIP’s uproar over Spanish fishing around UK shores.

Presumably UKIP is devastated to learn that our immigration policy will be changed to allow tens of thousands of foreign Gurkhas to settle in Britain. I doubt the Gurkhas will be voting for UKIP.

So whilst UKIP opposes the EU making laws for Britain, its solution is to simply allow Europe an unchallenged involvement in our politics. “You really couldn’t make it up.

Personally, I’m pleased to have diverse candidates representing Britain, as diverse British viewpoints set us apart from other insular and rather xenophobic European nations.

The fact is we are a member of the EU. If we’re paying £40m/day for our membership let’s make sure we get our £40m worth out of it. Let’s get informed, let’s participate, let’s expose faults and reform where necessary, let’s make sure we play our part to its full.

I propose to represent London by consultation thereby making Londoners leaders in Europe. Our MEPs have failed to properly consult us or educate us about our involvement in Europe, which explains why most of us cannot even name or recognise an MEP, when asked.

If you’re keen for Britain to withdraw from the EU, save that vote for the General Election but use your European Parliamentary Election vote to ensure Britain has the best representation while we are a member of the EU.

A rather arrogant view

"Even UKIP confirms that a vote for them will only send a message to our politicians rather than doing anything constructive for British interests in Europe."

Ever consider that the majority of the British have no interest in constructing a new Europe?

"UKIP blames the EU for ‘unlimited’ immigration, yet it is fielding an Argentine born, Spanish candidate, Marta Andreasen, to represent British interests in the South East Region. I find this most confusing given UKIP’s uproar over Spanish fishing around UK shores."

What does that prove? That they are hypocritical racists? Considering Black and Asian MEPs and MPs have been elected for UKIP I'd say not. Andreasen's loyalty is to UKIP and to her native Spain.

"Presumably UKIP is devastated to learn that our immigration policy will be changed to allow tens of thousands of foreign Gurkhas to settle in Britain. I doubt the Gurkhas will be voting for UKIP."

Yet agian you fail in your assumptions of the party. UKIP were very much in favour of Gurkha's rights to settle here. And why not? They have earned the right to it. Unlike many migrants into this country who have no idea about our culture or government. Some dont even know who their MP is.

you got no chance mate

Reply:  The grammar says it all! I guess UKIP are just not dumb enough for you.
